Natural Connections 2012

Summary

Natural Connections 2012

Working positively with others is the only way of achieving 'bigger, better and more joined up' natural networks that deliver multiple benefits for people and nature.

It is key to Natural Choice implementation, progressing strategic green infrastructure, and delivering Living Landscapes, Nature Improvement Areas / Ecological Restoration Zones, and other large scale initiatives.  The Biodiversity 2020 delivery plan is also imminent and committed to an integrated approach putting people at the heart of change.

People who attended this conference heard proven success factors and cutting edge ideas to help them: work in productive partnerships, develop novel collaborations, pool resources, run effective participation, involve and inspire others, and reinvigorate their own team or organisation.

Among the eminent speakers were well-known figures and leaders in their field from the public sector, NGOs, think-tanks, academia, journalism, radio and TV.  Presentations included those from inspiring innovators, pioneering partnership projects, novel collaborations and ground breaking social enterprise.

Comments on the event included:

“It was a good mixture of inspiring thoughts and practical example”

“Exceeded my expectations”

“Great line up of speakers from a good range of organisations and backgrounds”

“Really good balance of inspirational, policy, good practice and case examples”
